Meet Dr. Deborah Shanks, lead veterinarian and partner behind CityVet Lake Worth. Since graduating veterinary school in 2013, she has proudly cared for pets and the families who love them across DFW. Dr. Shanks prides herself on her dedication and ability to go above and beyond for each and every animal and her goal is to make sure every pet is living their best life. At home, she’s a mom to three daughters, two dogs, and one very opinionated cat—so life is busy, loud, and full of love! Opening her own practice has been a long-time dream, and with the support of a team that shares her heart for compassionate care, she is incredibly excited to welcome the community to CityVet Lake Worth.

They even have a chiropractor and acupuncturist, Dr Barbie, she comes to the clinic to help treat the patients who need her. She was so kind and very knowledgeable helping put my anxious mind at ease as well as helping my dog feel less pain and encourage healing.
I have multiple animals and have been to 5 veterinary clinics this year due to either an emergency or recheck appointments and was scoping out what clinic I would prefer for my primary clinic and hands down it is this CityVet location. The receptionist are really nice and helpful, the techs have been kind and knowledgeable, the Dr we saw was Dr Shanks, you can really tell she cares deeply and loves her job.
Precious Milo was such a brave boy for his visit! 🐾💙 We loved getting to see this sweet, handsome guy!

Precious Penny came in to see Dr. Hurst for her very first puppy visit! 🐾💕 We seriously can’t get enough of this sweet little face. Safe to say, Penny already has her CityVet family wrapped around her tiny paw!

We are so excited to welcome Cameo to the CityVet Lake Worth team!
Cameo has been a professional pet stylist for over 5 years, but her love for grooming started long before that—she grew up with 13 dogs, so caring for pups (and even giving them a shave!) was simply part of life.
One of Cameo’s favorite things about grooming is building relationships with the pets she works with and helping them feel comfortable, confident, and their very best. She especially loves breed-specific trims and creative grooming—from the perfect haircut to a pop of color on a tail or even painted nails! Cavaliers and Brussels Griffons are a couple of her favorite breeds to groom.
When she’s not at the grooming table, Cameo loves spending time with her fiancé and their crew of two dogs and four cats. She also enjoys rock climbing, hiking, StrayKids, and—most importantly—Halloween is her favorite holiday!
We are thrilled to have Cameo joining our CityVet Lake Worth family and can’t wait for you and your pets to meet her!

Precious Muffin came in when she wasn’t feeling well and she got all fixed up by Dr. Hurst! Seeing our patients feeling better — and seeing how happy and relieved their families are — is one of the best parts of what we do. Meet Dr. Hurst, a small animal veterinarian since 2015. She is passionate about preventative medicine and keeping your furry family members thriving. She knows that a pet isn’t just an animal, they’re a best friend, and she has dedicated her career to supporting that special bond. When she isn’t in the clinic, you can find her with her husband and two kids, hanging out on their ranchette with their 2 dogs, Bernoulli and Fisher, as well as the family horses Comanche, Darwin, Rou, and Hotshot.
