The first was an emergency surgery to remove numerous bladder stones that were blocking his ability to urinate. The poor dog could barely pee for days.
The second incident happened recently. Bo stopped eating, lost 18 pounds in two weeks, and became so weak he could barely support himself to go to the bathroom. He even began falling over onto his side. We were horrified, we truly thought this might be the end.
Dr. Tucker wasn’t available, but Dr. Brajae Brazil was able to see us right away. This is where CityVet showed their true character. We are self‑employed and going through very hard times financially, yet they put the patient first, ahead of profit. They helped us figure out strategic ways to get the medications Bo needed for his severe infection. Then the manager, Denise, stepped in and helped us obtain the rest of the medication at a significant discount.
All I can say is: I cried with gratitude.
Update on Bo: He is eating a lot now! He’s still weak, but he’s slowly gaining back his muscle mass and most importantly… he’s alive — and improving every day.

Dr. Brazil is absolutely great. She gave us very detailed instructions before the surgery and kept me updated throughout every step. I happened to miss one of her calls, but she left a very thorough voicemail, which I really appreciated.
I had mentioned my concerns about my cat’s kidney health before the surgery. I really appreciated that Dr. Brazil took the time to review the blood test results and tell us to confirm everything was fine. It was a very considerate gesture.
The surgery went well, and my cat was active and was able to play with us and drink as soon as we got home. I also love how transparent their pricing is. The final bill was less than the original quote because the doctor assessed that my cat didn’t need certain treatment – she made sure the medication was tailored exactly to my cat’s situation. They also explained to my husband throughly when he picked the cat up. Highly recommended!
